Fast forward to today. I figured I would put it to use as a venue for those of you who wish to keep track of my progress or lack thereof on the novel I will be starting to write tomorrow. If you are asking yourself whether I have thrown off banking to follow my muse into the great and rewarding field of writing, I have not. Rather, this is mostly an exercise in will power and follow through.
The challenge is this: to write 50,000 words of semi-coherent fiction in 30 days (the month of November) along with a legion of similarly masochistic peers. No, I didn't come up with the idea myself but I am going to give it a shot. If you want more information about the project you can check out http://www.nanowrimo.org the website that started my quest.
My hope is to update whenever I get a chapter done, which I intend to do about every three days, but it may end up being more or less frequent than that. Because of the rather short timeline, don't expect Shakespearian prose. In fact, feel lucky if I have time to spell check before posting. Without further ado, here goes nothing....

Great idea for a project.
Hemingway might be some help when it comes to description and adjectives. Look at his "Iceberg Principle"
